‘1965’ is a social-political thriller with thought-provoking human drama and a multi-threaded plot structure that examines the themes of home and identity through a defining moment in a young nation’s history. In the year 1965, locals and immigrants suddenly saw the possibility of calling an island home and country. Their stories are both compelling and real. 1965 was a year that made history. It was a year when some succeeded in finding hope against seemingly hopeless odds.

Homerun Asia has assembled some of Singapore’s best talents in the film, fashion and music industries to be part of the creative team of ‘1965’.

Renowned award-winning Singaporean music producers, brothers Lee Wei Song and Lee Si Song, will take charge of scoring the soundtrack of ‘1965’. Singapore’s most popular singer-songwriter export, Stefanie Sun, whom the brothers also discovered and developed, has also agreed to sing the movie’s theme song.

Prominent local fashion designer Lai Chan will oversee set and costume design, ensuring the authenticity of every little detail in the movie, which will be based in the 1960s. Lai Chan is a veteran of the Singapore theatre industry who recently branched into movies by designing the costumes for Homerun’s first production, ‘Homecoming’.
